The St. Mark Health Ministries and Adult Discipleship and Nurture Commissions are hosting a monthly, four-part series that will allow congregation members to reflect on how the pandemic affected us and how we reframe our lives in light of our experiences. Starting on July 25th after the 11:00 am service, we will provide spiritual, mental health, and other reflective resources for growth and healing from fear, grief, and loss. Child care for those under 12 will be provided; the series is open to youth. It will include a time of eating lunch together (BYO) and discussion, wrapping up at 1:15. The deadline for child care registration is Wed., July 21st. Subsequent dates for the series are: Aug. 29th, Sept. 26th, and Oct. 24th. Beginning this weekend the Deacons will be collecting school supplies as part of the Project Hope Alliance (PHA) Back-To-School Program. PHA is an organization that supports local homeless children and encourages them to stay in school, with a goal of ending the cycle of homelessness. PHA is in need of the following items for the start of the new school year: backpacks, No. 2 pencils, markers, colored pencils, coloring books, lunch boxes, folders (letter size), calculators, scientific calculators, rulers and compasses/protractors. Gift cards in increments of $25 to Target, Amazon or Walmart are also needed. Bring your items to church during any worship service beginning July 10/11 or 17/18 and place them in the red wagon or you can leave items in the St. Mark Office during office hours.
Pastors Mark and Hayes invite children ages 4-11 to join them for a summer event called Patio Pals, during the 9:30am service on June 27, July 18, and August 15. We will have stations for music, games, snacks, and a story time, ready for the children to join parents by the end of the worship service. Drop off and pick up will take place on the labyrinth. All events will be outdoors, weather permitting, so masks will not be required. Any parents who would like to join in the fun, please contact Pastor Hayes (firstname.lastname@example.org) to sign up.
