“With many notes left in her fingers and music in her soul,” Alicia is delighted to be part of the music ministry team at St. Mark. She is originally from Alabama, and earned a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in organ performance, from Alabama College (now the University of Montevallo), Montevallo, Alabama in 1969. She studied organ performance with Arthur Poister at Syracuse University and David Craighead at Eastman School of Music. In 1983, she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, and practiced for 15 years as a civil litigation attorney.
Since moving to California in 1995, Alicia has served as organist at Mesa Verde United Methodist Church, Shepherd Hills United Methodist Church, Bay Shore Community Congregational Church and as interim director of music at Community United Methodist Church. She has accompanied various groups in Southern California including Villa Park High School, Cerro Villa Middle School, the Choral Belles and Harbor Singers.
Her hobbies include reading and all things around and in the water, including boating, fishing and RVing. She is an active member of the Orange County Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, serving as Treasurer since 2003.
