Mission at Work

We promote the love and justice of Jesus Christ and the responsible stewardship of God’s creation—from St. Mark’s Mission Statement:

Being and doing church is more than Sunday morning worship. At St. Mark Presbyterian Church Newport Beach, we are united in our dedication to being a missional church and we possess a willingness to serve, participate, show up, and be engaged.

Locally in Orange County, our work with disadvantaged youth and adults, the homeless and many others in need is significant and is actively supported by our Deacons and our members.

Nationally, our outreach includes organizations such as Bread for the World, a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s leaders to end hunger at home and abroad. Internationally, for example, we are helping to build and maintain a community health clinic in Nicaragua.

Our Ecophilians Environment Group leads the way in identifying opportunities to care for creation with ecological awareness, and our Peace and Justice Commission helps our congregation focus on important domestic and global issues.

Our campus also houses the St. Mark Community Preschool, open to children of all faiths, and the Newport Community Counseling Center, which has helped thousands of clients in need of mental health services.
