Congregational care and nurture

Congregational Care St. Mark

St. Mark’s Health Ministries Commission is vitally involved with promoting and supporting all aspects of health (body, mind and spirit) in our congregation.

We offer first aid and CPR classes, and lectures on nutrition, end-of-life issues, grief/loss, and other topics. Blood pressures are taken the last Sunday of each month, and we offer free flu shots in the fall in coordination with the Hoag Hospital Community Medicine Department. Our Parish Nurse, Ann Scott is a valuable resource for information, education, and resources between individuals and the health care system. She can be reached at

Health Services at St. Mark PresbyterianSt. Mark’s Care Team is also available to our members in need. The team helps individuals prepare for medical procedures and transition from hospital to home. When requested, team members accompany individuals to doctor appointments and arrange for meals to be taken to those whose lives are disrupted by illness or accident. Care Team members take a gift to newborns and pay quiet visits to those at the end of life. Please contact member Louise Van Buren through the church office for more information.
